2011 Boat Parade Winners

1st Place: Pontoon #24

After not placing in last year’s parade, the Bob & Shelley Shick Family decided to work harder at decorating. Shelley designed and sewed the red and blue stripe skirting highlighted by large white stars. She and her husband donned Uncle Sam outfits while the kids wore patriotic hats and cheered throughout the parade route. This Arbutus Beach family was definitely rewarded by the judges for all of their hard work!

2nd Place: Pontoon # 34

The Brock & Miranda Holtsclaw family and the Lou & Marsha Clark family were joined by neighbor Denise Mann & friends for their very first entry in the annual 4th of July parade! Matching outfits, red, white and blue hats and umbrellas and waving flags buoyed them on to victory. “We had a lot of fun and we will definitely do it again next year.” They, too, hale from Arbutus Beach.

3rd Place: Pontoon #33

Representing the other side of the lake was the Turbin’s from Corey Cove along with their visitors the Grisa’s, and Smiley’s. They, too, sported red, white, and blue skirting and trim. The front of their pontoon carried a dancing Statute of Liberty flanked by her dancing guards.

Congratulations to all of the participants.
